Records should be stored upright (as are books), with paper, card or polythene dust sleeves on, to prevent scratches and a long term build up of dust, grease and grime. 7'' Singles, 12'' discs, albums and box sets should be separated into each size category and be stored snugly to prevent warping or bending of the vinyl. This will also help to prevent creasing and dog-ear cornering to the record sleeves.
You should note that even a small collection of vinyl discs can be extremely heavy and hard to carry around, but there are many intelligent vinyl record storage solutions available, from permanent shelving racks that are attached to the wall for added strength, to smaller more portable ''hard cases'' that can be carried around safely, in small amounts at a time, keeping your vinyl records ''safe and sound''. 😉🎵
